Amigurumi Round Chick

Picture
Today's free amigurumi pattern is a round chick (or duckling, depending on what you would prefer)! Either way, this little bird is very easy to make, and very cute, too. If you needed something sunny to brighten your day, perhaps this will suffice; after all, it is yellow and orange, also round.
Continue scrolling down to find the free version of the pattern. If you would like to purchase the PDF pattern, it is available through my Ravelry and LoveCrafts stores. Below is a direct purchase link via Ravelry.

  • DK weight yarn, shown here in Rico Ricorumi (100% cotton; 62 yds/57m per 25g/0.9oz) 1 skein each of Yellow #006 (Color A) and Smokey Orange #024 (Color B)
  • 3.00mm or US D (3.25mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

11 sts and 12 rows= 2”/5cm over single crochet in the round

Finished Measurements

  • Height: 2.5 in. (6.3cm) from bottom of feet to top of head/body.
  • Width: 2.5 in. (6.3cm) from one wing to the other, at widest point below beak.
  • Circumference: 6.75 in. (17.1cm) around, including over wings.

Pattern Notes

  • The wings are worked flat except for the final round. The rest of the pattern pieces are worked continuously in the round.
  • Slip stitch at the beginning of each round to join. Unless otherwise stated, the slip stitch does not count as the first stitch.
  • US crochet terminology is used for the pattern.
  • Matching gauge is not important for this pattern. Simply keep a tight, even tension throughout.
