Hi everyone! While working on the lavender stress ball pattern, which you can find here, I decided to make lavender ice cream with some of the remaining organic food-grade lavender buds I was using for craft projects. This recipe is one of my favorites. I found it in an old ice cream and sorbet recipe book that I have. The recipe takes its origins from French and Middle Eastern desserts, where lavender is a common ingredient in confections. This custard-based ice cream also features honey, and a small amount of vanilla (the dried lavender buds on top are just a garnish, for display purposes).
Have you ever tried any unusual or uncommon ice cream flavors? Let me know in the comments? Also, if you like to request an ice cream flavor for me to post about, feel free.
Until next time!
